Week 10 Rankings

Sorry I've been doing a lot of travelling lately and haven't had the time to post. Without further ado,

Your Top 25:

Alabama

Alabama loses some points but maintains its #1 spot after holding on against LSU.

Kansas State
29.4

Kansas State keeps its perfect record and its #2 ranking after beating Oklahoma State 44-30.

3

Texas A&M
28.6

Texas A&M crushes Mississippi State 38-13 and is rewarded by moving up two spots in the rankings.

4

Oregon
28.4

The Ducks do just what you would expect by winning close (by Oregon standards) against USC.

5

Oklahoma
27.6

Oklahoma puts in a good performance by beating a decent Iowa State team by 15, but it's not enough to prevent the Sooners from sliding down a spot.

Teams falling out of the Top 25: (#37) Arizona, (#26) Mississippi State, (#27) Iowa State

Teams worse than the average FCS team: Colorado, Idaho, Massachusetts

Largest improvement in rank: Virginia rises 19 spots after a surprise victory over an NC State team that upset Florida State earlier this year. However, that only puts the 3-6 Cavaliers at #88.

Largest drop in rank: Arizona drops 21 spots as UCLA hammers the Wildcats 66-10.

Most consistent team: USC has actually held this title since Week 7. Losing by 11 to the mighty Ducks of Oregon is more or less what we expected to happen, isn't it?

Most inconsistent team: Arizona swings from winning handily against Oklahoma State in Week 2 to losing big against UCLA this week. Not that RichRod-coached teams have had a history of inconsistency or anything...

Games to watch next week: (Assuming you like watching two top-ranked, evenly-matched teams duke it out.)

#16 Oregon State at #22 Stanford (TBD) Since both Stanford and Oregon State are 5-1 in the Pac-12 and neither have yet played Oregon, winning this game will keep either team's hopes of going to the conference championship alive.

#17 Arizona State at #20 USC (TBD) The second and third teams of the Pac-12 South are also playing each other this week. USC could still go on to win the division by winning this game and beating UCLA the following week. The Sun Devils, having already lost to UCLA, need to win just to keep the dream alive.

#27 Iowa State at #18 Texas (12:00 PM, Longhorn Network) Though neither team is likely to be the conference champion--Texas has a chance, but it involves Kansas State and Oklahoma both losing twice when they mostly have the weaker half of the conference left to play--the game should still be an interesting one as the Longhorns face an Iowa State team always good for an upset.
